Where do my clips go?

Every clip you save goes to your Photos app on iPhone, or your Gallery on Android, as an ordinary video. You can also find them in Snapback: tap the play button beside Clip it to open Replays, where you can watch, share or delete them.

Why is my clip shorter than I picked?

Snapback can only keep what it has recorded. If you tap Clip it before it has been rolling for as long as you picked, the clip starts where rolling did. The tag at the top of the screen shows how many seconds are in the bank.

How do I change how far back it keeps?

Tap the menu button at the top right to open Game setup. There you can pick 15, 30, 60 or 90 seconds, the quality and the frame rate. Stop rolling first: settings stay put while you’re recording.

The camera or saving doesn’t work

Snapback needs your camera and microphone to record, and access to your photos to save clips. If you said no when it asked, turn access back on in your phone’s settings: on iPhone, Settings → Snapback; on Android, Settings → Apps → Snapback → Permissions.

Battery and heat

Snapback keeps the camera running the whole time it’s rolling, which uses battery and can warm up your phone, more so at 4K and 60 frames a second. For a long game, bring a charger or battery pack, and keep the phone out of direct sun.

What is the mark on my clips?

Saved clips carry a small snapback mark in the bottom-right corner.

Privacy

Your recordings stay on your phone, and Snapback needs no account. The privacy policy explains the technical reports the app sends and how to turn them off.
